I've been using Fast Reports in C++ Builder VCL for quite a while now. This software is my go-to for creating custom product labels in the automotive sector. I'm really happy with how fast and high-quality the Fast Report VCL is.

You can whip up simple reports in no time, and if you want to dive into more complex, chained batch reports, the manuals guide you through it all.

For years, we relied on the standard report writer that came with Delphi, and let me tell you, it was slow, awkward, and just plain heavy.

Switching to FastReport, even though it cost us a bit, turned out to be a fantastic decision. The integration with our code is way smoother, everything is compiled directly into the exe, so we didn’t have to deal with any deployment headaches, plus the integrated designer is pretty slick. For around 30 years, I've been in the game of system development, starting out with Turbo Pascal and Delphi. I kicked things off with MS Access version 1 back in '93, then moved on to VB.NET. Honestly, I found VB.NET to be quite clunky and not the best for user experience. Right now, I'm using Blazor for the front-end and was on the lookout for a reporting tool. FastReports feels really intuitive and integrates seamlessly with Blazor. This duo of Blazor and FastReports is definitely what I'll be using moving ahead. I can wholeheartedly recommend this pairing.

For years, our team has been utilizing Fast Report VCL. Our clients appreciate the ability to receive reports in various formats like Excel, PDF, Word, and more. As developers, we really dig how we can whip up a basic report, and it’s ready to be exported in all those different formats without any extra hassle.

For the past 15 years, we've been utilizing FR with DELPHI, and we’re really pleased it comes with open source code. This has allowed us to tweak it extensively to meet our specific requirements.

We rely on it for generating all sorts of documents, both for customers and internal use.

However, the Delphi version is missing some of those fancy PDF export features. The .NET version of FR definitely has a superior PDF export engine compared to Delphi. For instance, it can't overlay PDF pages on top of each other, which is a bit of a bummer...

We even ran into a bug once and suggested a fix, which they quickly addressed in the next update.

Our setup includes the report designer integrated into our ERP system, along with the SDAC connector, variants, and variables. We don’t really mess with scripting in FR much (we prefer using FastScript for that elsewhere).

This all-in-one reporting solution for Delphi is fantastic – it simply gets the job done. You can go from nothing to having a report ready in no time, and it’s data aware too. Plus, you can deploy report files later on, so there's no hassle of recompiling every time you tweak a report. It works seamlessly with SQL Server, which is a big plus for me. I've utilized this tool in several projects, and the results have always been solid. I've been on board since 2014 and still going strong.

Fast Reports surely stands out as one of the most reliable third-party components for Delphi. I’m not searching for another reporting tool anytime soon. It gets regular updates, which gives me confidence in my investment and the ongoing upkeep of the product.

For many years now, we've been utilizing FastReport. We've mainly been working in the FMX environment for quite a while. Sadly, we must point out that there’s been barely any new development happening in this area. The components do get regular updates to align with new Delphi versions. However, it seems like there haven't been any genuinely new features introduced in recent years. It feels like this product line is being overlooked!
